Check here each month for the Village Newsletter.  The General information guide has important phone numbers and other information that is useful to new residents.  New residents should visit the Clerk's office to register to vote, register your pet, purchase your Vehicle Sticker.  Homeowners need to register for utility billing. Utilities include water, sewer, and garbage. Residents are billed every two months.
All home remodeling requires a permit.  Check the permits/licenses tab.
The Illinois Dept of Public Health (IDPH) and the Cook County Dept of Public Health (CCDPH) surveillances indicate a large increase in West Nile Virus activity in mosquitoes.  It is important that residents and businesses eliminate stagnant water on your properties. To avoid mosquito
bites and prevent West Nile virun desease. these precautions are recommended:
1.  Avoid being outdoors when mosquitoes are most active, especially between dusk and dawn.
2.  When outdoors at this time, use mosquito repellant.
3.  Change water in bird baths and wading pools daily.
4.  Eliminate water in flower pots, children toys, old tires and any other receptables.
5.  Clear gutters and down spouts so water does not sit in them.
6.  Report catch basin or standing water on your property to SCCMAD.
7.  Un-maintained swimming pools may produce thousands of mosquitoes.
Monitoring dead bird locations is a priority of CCDPH.  The presence of dead birds in a community is a sign of possible WNV in the area.
