IN MEMORIAM

Village Trustee Dan Kneita passed away on January 12, 2016 at the age of 54.  Dan was a dedicated and conscientious member of our village government team and his contributions will be greatly missed by the residents, employees and officials who worked with him.  An active member of the community, Dan was a fixture at Village events and charitable causes and also served as an annual volunteer for the Special Olympics.

A product of the local school districts, Dan graduated from St. Christina’s Elementary School and Eisenhower High School before acquiring an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Moraine Valley Community College.  Dan also acquired a Real Estate Broker’s License from the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.

Dan’s worked professionally at METRA as a Right Of Way Administrator.  In addition to ensuring the safety of METRA employees when utility companies will be working on METRA property, Dan worked with private businesses, governments and individuals who sought to use METRA real estate.  Dan’s knowledge of right of way property rights and issues was extremely useful when discussing the responsibility of the Village and private property owners when sidewalk replacements and street repairs were being done.

Dan was a good friend and excellent public servant.  We will miss him dearly and we extend our condolences to his family.
